How do I play Riddle Monkey?
To play Riddle Monkey you will need the Riddle Monkey Game and an internet connected device.
You fill the treasure box with a personalised prize or gift. The goal is for the kids to find the combination code to unlock the treasure box and discover their reward. The combination code will be revealed once all riddles have been solved.
Follow the simple step-by-step guide to prepare each treasure hunt. The set-up cards include the unique codes that work in conjunction with the digital riddles. These codes are clearly labelled with corresponding physical locations. You just hide the codes in the suggested places, scan the QR code and you are ready to riddle. It literally takes just five minutes!
The kids can access the Riddle Monkey riddles using any mobile device or personal computer. Your kids will be led through a series of online riddles which they solve one-by-one. Each time they answer a riddle correctly, a new hiding place is revealed – there are no shortcuts with this game! The kids hunt in the relevant hiding place for a code, which they input online to access the next riddle. This continues until the kids have solved all the riddles and located all the codes. At the final code they will unlock the treasure box and reap their rewards!
Do I need a device to play?
Yes, the riddle element of Riddle Monkey is designed to be accessed via a web browser. This allows us to make sure the riddles are always up to date and fun. It also makes the experience more interactive and easy for you to set up. Riddle Monkey adventures work on all devices using modern browsers.
Do I need one device per child?
Riddle monkey can be played using one or multiple devices, depending on whos playing. We encourage sharing one device and working together, but there is nothing stopping you having multiple devices to share among the riddlers, the treasure hunt is timed and clues use is recorded if you want a team challenge.
What else do I need?
Some of the riddles are easier to work out with a pen and paper.
How hard are the riddles?
Our riddles are aimed at kids (7-12) and they all have pretty good clues to avoid anyone getting stuck. If anyone gets really stuck we include the locations, codes and answers on the answer card (for grown up eyes only).
